The Lieutenant of Inishmore
by Martin McDonagh

directed by Matthew R. Wilson

On the bonny island of Inishmore, some misguided soul has killed Wee Thomas - the beloved black kitty of the fiercely-devoted, wildly-mad, Irish Liberation Fighter Padraic. In an effort to spare Padraic any grief or anger, neighbors Davey and Donny recruit a substitute cat. But in a world of terrorists, machine guns and vendettas, their valiant efforts fall short when they wind up with an orange tabby and a can of black shoe polish.

In this gleeful and gruesome comedy, Academy Award-winner and acclaimed Irish playwright Martin McDonagh sends up violence with his exhilarating, wicked wit.

Pet Adoption Day

Saturday, February 28: 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Source

For our production of The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Constellation Theatre teamed up with The Washington Humane Society.
We adopted the black kitty in the play.

Will you welcome a new cat or dog in to your home too?

On Sunday, February 15 following the matinee performance of The Lieutenant of Inishmore, the Washington Humane Society's mobile adoption van will be on-site at Source and full of adoptable cats and dogs. Audience members are welcome to come on the van and interact with the animals. If you find one that you like, you can fill out an adoption questionnaire and possibly take your new pet home that same day!

Potential adopters must have photo IDs. Accepted forms of payment include credit cards, debit cards and exact cash.

Since this event falls on WHS's monthly promotion weekend, the adoption fee for cats (normally $85) is only $14 for Valentine's Day!

All of the cats and dogs that will be attending the event are in the Washington Humane Society foster care program. Any individual, family, or business with the compassion and willingness to help needy animals can apply to serve as a foster volunteer. To find out more information about becoming a foster please email foster@washhumane.org.
